The Pet Parade and River the Raccoon

Our first "float" in the PAWS of NELA sponsored Pet Parade= SUCCESS!

We got to help sponsor a very decorated up Mardi Gras wagon today and host our little buddy "River the Raccoon". River was featured on this years limited edition Mardi Gras tee and he has been loved by many.
It was so cool today to see people come up to his cage to take pics with him or hear people shout "Hey River" or "There is that famous Coon".

I got some giggles from seeing my buddy Julie Emory interact with River...

That little Coon was a champ. By the time the parade started, he was relaxed and taking a little siesta. Ha!! Completely understandable for this 10 month old toddler.
(Can you guys see him laying down in the above pic??)
I tried to snap pics of people in our Mardi Gras shirts.

It is the best feeling in the world to see people out wearing your companies shirt design!!

We had started a couple of weeks ago decorating up the wagon. Leslie bought and delivered it to me and I was in charge of decorations.

The plan was to have this base wagon and then an area on top for his cage to sit on. We wanted River to be high enough up so people could actually see him.  It worked out beautifully.
Leslie came earlier today and we loaded up the wagon in the back of her truck.
P slipped River a marshmallow before the ride to the parade site. I was following behind she and River.
And truthfully, I was sweating it and praying that my little painted canvases weren't going to blow off. They were only attached by glue gun.
We arrived and rushed to find the check in area for the Float competition.
P was in charge of picking up anything that fell....and quite a few koozies did! HAHA

When we were rolling in at noon, we get a big wave and smile from little Jill Keifenheim and Mrs K. Hey Ya'll!

Here was a pic of the judges for the competition.
We did not win, but it was all good. Cane's had some really nice prizes for the winners. I saw some really cute floats in line like this alligator one.  Folks went all out on this!!

We then got lined up and in place for the parade to begin.
Luckily, we ended up next to Maggie & Jason Nelson and their two cute boys~ Asher and Trouper. Asher even helped up pass out koozies!!! Thank you!!
The nice peeps at The Corner Vet were in front of us. Love some Nicole West!!!

The parade started and I was amazed at how many people attended. It was packed! There were 6 of us passing out orange beads, koozies and stickers, and we sadly ran out about 3/4th's of the way in. I think we got too excited at the beginning and threw too much too soon. I felt bad when we were empty, but people seemed just as excited to see River in person on the route. Here were some pics I snapped on route.

Hey Lewis Family!!

Hey Brewers!!! Hey Ward and Wren!!!

After it was over, P and I sat down and ate a bowl of gumbo and got to chat to our friend Erin for a second.

We then headed home. Tired but happy. Good memories were made.
Poor Phoebe had been sick all night with a stomach bug and my mom was keeping her. Thanks Mom!! And  Brent was stuck working the Home Expo all day and missed out on the fun.

Thanks again to Leslie, Jessica, Kathryn, and Breanne for all your help today (And Asher too!)

P.S. Mark your calendars to attend the Junior League of Monroe Spring Market March 24th-26th. We have a bunch of new designs coming out and can't wait for you guys to see!!

2017 Box Sale Recap & Online SALE

Today was pretty incredible.....
I woke up at 5am. Wide awake and a little nervous. Almost nervous like it is the morning of a race. Im wondering-Will we have a bunch of people come this year?? We they like the inventory available?   I climb in the tub and I look at my phone and immediately see where a fun group of 5 ladies have posted on IG that they were the first ones to get there....at 4AM!!!

WOW! Im shocked, excited and relieved. To think that people love the shirts that much (and a REALLY good Deal!!!) that they will climb out of bed and sit outside for 3 hours to maybe purchase some of our shirts is pretty amazing. We surprised those first 5 with their own Mr P's Gray logo hats. Yay!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! We love being the Black Friday of T Shirt Sales!!! And we loved seeing your posts too. So funny to read "waiting on t shirt royalty"-thanks Rob Hammond :)
and thanks for the shout out Maggie :)

So here are some crowd pics from this morning... People brought chairs-good thinking.

They huddled around in groups.

That sat on the ground too.

To show our appreciation for the folks who got out there super early, we had our friend Julie Emory pick up a large nugget tray from Chick filet and some small bottled water.

She walked up and down the line offering food to the folks that had been patiently waiting all morning long. I think they were a hit. Here were a few of the folks she snapped pics of in line.

We opened a few minutes early. Robby AKA Bouncer #1 explained where everything was and how it would all work, and then the crowd rushed in....Go! Go! Go !
and it was pretty slammed until about 9am.

Then, the crowd finally slowed up a tad at 9am (there were quite a few soccer games today. Brent was able to sneak away from the sale and go help coach Pearson's team this morning) and was steady until we closed the doors at 11am.

Got to see lots of folks that showed up in their current tees. People were happy with the money they saved. I also thought it all seemed to run a lot smoother this year compared to last year.
Maybe it was the different layout that Brent came up with??
Big thank you to this amazing group of friends who volunteered their time to work and help us.
I know how precious time is....especially a free Saturday morning.

...Thank you Beth, Erin, Eva, Lisa, Kourtney, Amy, Julie, Kathryn and Robby.
We now have all the remaining items on our website. Look under SALE ITEMS and everything left is listed. Go to www.mrpstees.com  I was an idiot and Brent found 2 boxes in our storage room that I forgot to take to the sale.  Ugggggg! They were a mix of short sleeve adult tees and tanks. These have now been added too. We will keep the online sale going for a couple of days and then take it down to start prepping for our new spring designs coming out.

Thank you again for a great morning. Stay tuned for our Brand Rep Search info....

BIG BOX SALE 2017 Info...

YAY!!! It is finally (almost) here....Our BIG annual box sale is THIS coming Saturday, Feb 11th from 7:30am-11am in West Monroe, LA. The location is the same as last year- at Ark La Tex Window & Door.  Why do we have it here?? This is Brent's (Mr P's Co Owners) "Real" job location. He and his dad have this business and it has the most covered space we can find (plus parking) and not have to rent a building.

The actual address is 2804 North 7th Street~ down the road from Trenton Street Golf Course and Hot Tots Consignment. Hope these little maps help....

We are opening up the doors a little earlier than last year. Start time is 7:30AM.

Here is some basic info for ya that we get asked a lot.....
"What time should we get there?" As early as possible-especially if you are wanting to snag youth shirts. The 2t's,4t's and 6t's seem to be what goes the fastest. Next would be the Adult mediums. Here are some of the front of the line troopers from last year :)

"What kind of payment are you guys taking?"- Cash and Debit/Credit only. No checks at all. We will have 3-4 check out lines. Some will be cash only and others with be debit/credit only.  Please note that there are NO exchanges after this event. All sales final.

"Will you still have the sale if it rains?"- YES! The sale will happen rain or shine. The weather forecast as of today says 40% chance of rain on Saturday. We are banking that the rain will come Saturday evening. Please note that shoppers will be standing outside while they wait to come in. If you think it might start raining, please bring an umbrella.

"How do you get in the Door?"- You just wait in line. First come, first serve. It doesn't cost anything to come shop. We try to get around 15 or so shoppers in the door at a time (due to fire marshal). We ask that people try to take 15 minutes or less so everyone can get a chance to look. Our "bouncers" at the event try to keep the line moving.

"How are the clothes organized?" They will all be in boxes labeled by what size they are. There will be everything from baby sizes on up to Adult XXL. Please note that our youth shirts run Small- So... if your child normally wears a 3t in Carter's, you will want to look at a 4t in our shirts.

"Will you put anything for sale online?" YES! After the box sale is over, we will start posting as soon as we get the sale items on our website (www.mrpstees.com). They will be listed for the same exact prices that were at the box sale.

"What are the Prices??"

We appreciate all the excitement over this sale!!!  We are also gearing up for the big PAWS of NELA Pet Parade on Sat. Feb 18th on Antique Alley in West Monroe. We are sponsoring the "River the Raccoon" float and will be throwing lots of koozies, stickers and orange beads to everyone.

Also- stay tuned for our big Mr P's Tees Brand Rep 2017 Search which will begin on Instagram on Monday, Feb 13th.
