Dress Up

"Playing Dress up begins at age five and never truly ends" ~ Kate Spade

3 friends traveled down winding road to reach their destination of a beautiful open space with lush green grass and twinkling lights. Young women, but still little girls inside, thrilled to be playing dress up. The sun was setting and the colors in the sky were beautiful like them. Innocent faces.
3 friends sitting by the lake. Dreaming big dreams and then laughing at
nothing.
     at.
       all.

All the girls in fairy tales get to wear big poof-y skirts and this was no different.

It was time to play dress up.

Ellie slipped on the gorgeous cotton boll skirt.  Her red hair sparkled and her creamy skinned glowed.
She was King Cotton. Or I guess we should call her Queen Cotton. :)

Taylor has these deep soulful eyes and wore the skirt made to stand tall like stalks of corn waiting to be harvested.
She was The Black Bear patiently waiting on the hill.

And then there was Jordyn. Light as a feather and strong all the same.

She was the Dandelion in the group. Calm and whispering, surrounded by feathers.... To be young and free and beautiful again. I hope they realize how much they sparkle??!?!

And then the dream was over and it was time to go relax. Shorts and tees came on and they were instantly transformed back into comfortable teen.

3 friends enjoying the evening. Lights flickering above their heads. The world is their oyster....
The End.

Thank you for a great night Ellie, Taylor and Jordyn, and all the moms who helped, and to the amazing Heather Land and her photography ( and the sharing of her place) and to Rodeo Boutique in Ruston, LA  for all the casual clothes for the event. I loved all the girls cut off shorts in particular. Ellie is a freshman at West Monroe High School, Taylor is a freshman at Ouachita High School and Jordyn is an 8th grader at Ouachita Junior High.

Big Slick and The Owen Family

I have been wanting to get this sweet family in some pics for a year now but the timing was never right, but now it FINALLY happened! YAY!!
The Owen Family.....
I had been following Alyson Owen on Instagram for awhile now. She has a very honest and authentic account (the.owen.life) that tells the ongoing story of a "Louisiana wife & mama living a simple and happy life". She is not afraid to post about bad days and mom struggles as well as all the happy stuff.

Her photography is wonderful as well as her story telling.  It's all real life and relatable and it is so cool that all this famous photo journaling takes place in our home town of West Monroe, LA.  Did I mention that she has over 30K followers?!?! I think they call that Insta-Famous!!

You may recognize her hubby John David as Willie Robertson's assistant with Duck Commander. Got to love a good thick beard :)

John David was born and raised here and married pretty Alyson who was born here also. They just celebrated their 6th anniversary in December and have two little boys~ Carter, 3 and Benz, 10 months. The love they feel for each other is easily seen in their photos (taken by Heather Land)

I thought the new "Big Slick" shirt would compliment the families free spirit on the shoot. And for some reason, I just felt like they needed to be photographed Downtown.

A train even went by during the shoot! Fun Fun

It's important to support our downtown area-don't cha think?!?! Most of the pics were taken in front of the old Ouachita Candy Company on Walnut Street. This building is on the National Register of Historic Places Program. Built in 1913. Neat!!
We like to say that "Big Slick" is first cousins to King Kong and he barrels through the oil fields in his new pair of checkered Vans. All hand drawn and original.
When I first drew him out, he had on the usual Chucks.... but Brent vetoed that and suggested checkered Vans...
So the shoes did change a little.. and then the design was finalized. Loved the little spot light that our fav graphics guy Jeff Smith added to help highlight the design.
And then how it turned out on a youth and adult tee...

This shirt will make its debut at the Junior League Spring Market in Monroe, LA on Friday March 24th - 26th and be available online by Monday, March 27th at www.mrpstees.com

Thanks for reading and for all your support!

And the Winners are....

And the Winners of our 2017 Brand Rep Search are.........

Not to drag this on and on, but I have got to tell you how extremely difficult this was. We had over 1500 public tags with the #MrPsRep2017 and this did not include the hundred or so that private messaged us about following them to see their entry because their page was set to private. Our worker Breanne took a good week printing out all the photos so we could see everyone. I literally looked at all the faces and then went to their Instagram pages and scanned their photos to see if their style fit ours. It took forever! Why do men not get emotionally attached like women?!?  Brent could just flip through them so much faster and make a decision. They are so Black and White.  I was so caught up in it! You would of thought this was Mr P's "Rush"!! hahaha  I honestly had my heart set on using 10 reps but we realized that this was wayyyyy to many for our little company. And of course, Brent reminded me that we will have more searches in the future.
(This was me getting ready to paint Phoebe's toes while I looked at some of our favorites in the bathroom)

After the print outs were ready, We then divided everyone into 3 groups-Baby/Little (under 2ish), Youth, and Teen/Adult. After two days, I had it narrowed down to about 26 people.
Brent then came in and narrowed it down further over lunch.
So, last night, we hashed it out and came up with these 6 winners (actually 7 because one of them is a brother team). If you didn't get picked, I am very very sorry. Please know that we do get models for our photo shoots from this search. We were able to use around 20 models last year from this search alone. We are truly thankful that you guys think enough of our company to want to rep it. Thank you so much for allowing us to have a glimpse into your lives!!
